In order to know a foreign language thoroughly(完全地), four things are necessary. First, we must understand the language when we hear it spoken. Secondly, we must be able to speak it ourselves, correctly with confidence(自信) and without hesitation(犹豫).Thirdly, we must be able to write it. Finally, we must be able to make sentences that are correct in grammar.
There is no short way to succeed in language learning. A good memory(记忆)is a great help, but it is not enough only to memorize the rules from a grammar book. It is no much use learning by heart long lists(一览表)of words and their meanings, studying the dictionary and so on. We must learn by using the language. If we are pleased with a few rules we have memorized, we are not really learning the language. We must "Learn through use". Practice is important. 答案:56.D
57.A由第2段的“...They… drank much”及“…make him regain conscious(清醒)”,可以推断出,他撞人的原因是喝多了酒,故选A。
58.B由“…make him regain conscious(清醒)”,可知,警察把他关在一间又冷又湿的小屋里的原因就是他喝得太多,不清醒以至于无法回答问题。最大的干扰项是D,这里要注意的是,并不是警察侮辱他,而是他认为警察让他在湿冷的屋子清醒一下是在侮辱他。
59.B 根据第一段第3句:If I won a spelling contest at school, he was on top of the world可知答案。
60.B根据第二段前两句内容可知答案为B。
61.D  根据第二段内容:Unfortunately, my father and his motorcycle didn’t get along too well. As a result, he never again trusted any vehicle with less than four wheels.可知答案为D。
62.A我父亲是Allentown镇第一个买摩托车的人,但不是唯一的一个。
63.B   64.D   65.B  66. C   67. C
68. A由前文可知,这里要表达的意思是“到了一个新的地方应适应新的环境”,所以该词应和adapt同义。
69. A由第一段的最后一句“Read the following tips on keeping your travel experience as healthy as possible.”
